$16 Million Expansion Coming to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center

16 Million Expansion Coming to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center

As Water Club North Palm Beach is nearing completion on its first two towers, it looks like Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center's construction project will be starting very soon. Small operating rooms and an expected increase in demand for medical services is driving $16 million in renovations at premier hospital facilities located near Water Club North Palm Beach.

The hospital, which opened in 1968, has operating rooms that were outdated by today's technology. The updates will include a $2 million surgical robot, one of the newest medical advancements that has emerged in the last half century. The planned $16 million expansion and renovation project will address these needs, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center CEO Jeffrey Welch said.

The hospital plans to build four new 800 square foot surgical suites, including one specifically for the surgical robot that performs general, gynecological and urological procedures at the direction of a surgeon. "It brings a whole new level of quality and care to our patients and to the community," said Welch.

The work will be completed in phases the next year and a half to two years, but the first four operating suites should be open by the beginning of next year.

With Kolter's newest luxury condominium project, Water Club North Palm Beach preparing to welcome more than 150 new families to the area, the facility is preparing for the continued increase in the local population. "As Palm Beach Gardens grows as a city, the hospital wants to be able to handle the increase in people getting procedures", spokesman Ryan Lieber said.

Water Club North Palm Beach, located just three miles from the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, features two 20-story high-rise condominiums and 20 luxury single-family home villas that are nearly ready to welcome their very first homeowners
